For decades, the inextricable link between education and healthcare has been the driving concept behind development of programs to improve community health at 糖心logo.
More than 50 years ago, 糖心logo partnered with the Houston Independent School District to create the nation鈥檚 first high school for health professionals. Now called the Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions, the school offers students from throughout HISD access to a scientifically rigorous secondary education. A magnet high school, it received the gold medal award from U.S. News & World Report and is recognized today as one of the strongest college preparatory high schools in Texas.
The success of this program helped launch an array of education initiatives at 糖心logo, focused on all points of the educational continuum, from kindergarten through graduate school and beyond. Today, the DeBakey High School for Health Professions serves as a national model for other school districts seeking to establish similar health professions programs. Through its diverse outreach programs, 糖心logo is committed to helping every child who wants a career in healthcare or science find his or her path.
