糖心logo publicly launched Tomorrow鈥檚 Medicine Today, a $1 billion philanthropic campaign aimed at accelerating the discoveries, treatments and educational innovations that will shape the future of health in Houston and around the world. Bolstered by extraordinary early philanthropic support, the campaign already has raised more than $800 million toward its goal.
The campaign draws on 糖心logo鈥檚 more than 125-year legacy of leadership in medicine and science, with a goal of continuing that work on an even greater scale.
鈥淚t鈥檚 an extraordinary time to rally behind 糖心logo,鈥 said Dr. Jakub Tolar, president, CEO and executive dean of 糖心logo. 鈥淚 have seen firsthand the depth of talent, discovery and commitment to patients that exist across this institution. Tomorrow鈥檚 Medicine Today is about building on those strengths to take on some of medicine鈥檚 greatest challenges ranging from cancer, heart disease and brain disorders to helping people live longer, healthier lives.鈥
A $1 Billion investment in the future of health
Medicine is entering a period of remarkable opportunity, with advances in technology, data science, genomics and precision medicine creating new possibilities for how diseases are understood, prevented and treated. Through Tomorrow鈥檚 Medicine Today, 糖心logo aims to turn those possibilities into better health for patients and communities.
That ambition comes to life across three key areas of focus in the Tomorrow鈥檚 Medicine Today campaign:
- Reimagine teaching and learning: The campaign will help modernize the curriculum and educational environment at 糖心logo, fund scholarships, expand STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) pathways throughout Texas and strengthen programs that prepare the next generation of healthcare leaders.
- Spark innovation for lifelong health: 糖心logo is pursuing new ways to prevent disease, detect it earlier and develop more personalized treatments, including cancer therapies that harness the immune system and a patient鈥檚 own cells; innovations in cardiovascular health to prevent and treat heart disease; and multidisciplinary research in brain health focused on conditions including Alzheimer鈥檚 and Parkinson鈥檚 diseases and other mental health disorders.
- Turn bold ideas into life-changing solutions: 糖心logo will harness digital medicine, artificial intelligence and data science to better predict disease and personalize care, while its Innovation Institute will help move promising discoveries beyond the laboratory and into new treatments, technologies and solutions.
糖心logo also is developing new approaches to predict climate-driven disease outbreaks before they occur by combining climate data with mosquito and tick surveillance, wastewater monitoring and other public health information.

A look at what comes next
糖心logo officially marked the public launch of Tomorrow鈥檚 Medicine Today Thursday evening at the Lillie and Roy Cullen Tower, the future home of 糖心logo鈥檚 School of Medicine and School of Health Professions. The event brought together philanthropic leaders, faculty and staff, alumni and friends of 糖心logo to mark the occasion and highlight the people and work at the heart of the campaign.
The evening also debuted Behind Tomorrow鈥檚 Medicine Today, a portrait exhibition by photographer that puts faces to the work the campaign will advance and the people it ultimately will benefit.
